Adding up to 10

I am learning to write number sentences to 10.  I use the number line to help me count on.  I am working towards trying to do this in my head.

Phonics

We are learning to listen and record the sounds we can hear.  We are able to blend the sounds altogether.  We can use our phonics at Story writing and Reading time to help us.

" I can robot my sounds so you can use them at Reading and story writing.  We can learn more words." said Malak

Making Pizza

We made pizza as a class, using ingredients that we had grown ourselves. 

These photos show the writing process. We started with the 'draft stage', where students try to use the skills they have been taught. After 'conferencing' with the teacher and 'editing', they produce the 'published work' for their audience to enjoy.

" I can mix two words together to make a compound word.  Also I can put my full stop in the right place" said Malak

My fish

We have been learning how to draw a fish with scales.  My fish is looking for its babies.

Cats

I have been learning how to draw a cat.  I can mix colours together and I can also use charcoal to show shading.

Reading for Meaning

I am learning to go back and re read a sentence to see if it makes sense.

"I can get better at reading by asking my mum to help me learn the long words." Malak

Subtracting Bees!

The skittles game is a fun way to learn about subtraction problems to ten. You also have to try and write a number sentence that matches the number of skittles standing up and lying down.

"I really like using the i pads and playing the games." Malak

Maths

I am learning how to play snakes and ladders because it helps me to learn how to count on from a number.

Malak said," You have to do counting and you go up and down the snakes. I have to count slowly to get it right.You have to take turns and not cheat."

Reading

I am learning to check if my reading makes sense.  I know this sentence is right because when I read it, it sounds right.

Malak says," I am learning to put the words together. If we do it wrong it won't make sense. We have to read it again to check."

Scooter day

We are learning to keep ourselves safe when we are on a scooter.

Story writing

I am learning to write my story by myself.  I can use my word card and my sounds to help me write the words.

Malak said " I can spell the words out by roboting them and I can write the words myself."

Reading

I am learning to make the first sound with new words when I am reading.  I get my mouth ready to make the sound.

Malak  " I can make the first sound so you know what the word is."

Story writing

I am learning to write one sentence.  My word card and my phonics help me with my story.  I am remembering to write neatly on the line.

Malak- " I can write one sentence.  I am going to try to work my hardest to write 2 sentences next"

Before and After numbers

I am learning to write the before and after numbers to 10.  I am able to use a number line to help me.

Malak-" I can count before and after numbers.  You get a number line card so you know what to do."

Swimming

I am learning to get in the pool safely.  I am gaining confidence to put my head under the water.  I can kick my legs when I am using a flutter board.

Malak says- I can float and kick my legs with the noodle.
